For your amusement

When I read the following passage yesterday I literally laughed aloud in the middle of a croweded Steak n Shake. I provide it for your amusement.
"Rachel smiled. I checked my fucked-o-meter. The gauge was set firmly on 'Seven ways to Sunday.' That seemed about right."
Isn't that just freakin' brilliant??
The quote is from J. F. Lewis' novel, Staked.
I'm about 2/3 of the way through it and it's an amusing read. Heading to the beach, pool, mountains, back porch, front stoop this summer? Want something to read that is good fun? Treat yourself to this. I gave up on most vampire books quite awhile ago, but this one makes me a fan again. Eric, our (un)hero is snarky and at times a bit grumbly. In fact, there are a few people on my flist who, if became a vamp, I believe would be more like Eric than not ~cough, mutter Sweetness, cough~.
Go. Buy. Read. Enjoy. Thank me later. ;-)
