Conspiracy

Thank you.
Paltry words to describe what I want to express, but they are all I've got at the moment.
Thank you. I'll try to find some additional words in a moment, but first, for those who aren't aware. . .
I was the target of a conspiracy this evening. This wasn't just any conspiracy, either. It was swiftly planned and flawlessly executed, with co-conspirators ranging as far north as Maryland and as far south as Florida.
I arrived at Serenity Spa just a smidge after five o'clock and met Diane, the Massage Goddess. She explained a few things and escorted me to the massage room.
A little over an hour later, the conspiracy struck. Diane explained how to turn on the small table light, telling me that I would want more light as she was instructed to give me these-- paper rolled and wrapped in a gold ribbon and a bow, also wrapped with ribbon. She suggested I might want to start with the scroll.
I wasn't too curious. I figured the scroll was a "thank you for being a new client" note and the box probably contained a coupon for a few dollars off on my next service. I dressed and then removed the ribbon from the scroll.
And promptly started to cry. No, not a few tears welling up in my eyes- I was bawling, damnit! I read the scroll four times before the words started to sink in.
Dearest Melissa,
We who love you are so pleased you are giving yourself this gift of relaxation and peace. We hope you enjoyed your hour with Diane, the Massage Goddess. We want you to have one more and both of them are on us.

I gathered up my stuff with shaking hands and went out to the front desk, still crying. Diane gave me a huge hug and a handful of tissues. I mopped my face and tried to stop the waterworks. Then I handed Diane the gift certificate and stared at her when she shook her head. "No, that's for NEXT time."
More tears. Cried the whole 45 minute drive home.
So here I am, trying to figure out just how to thank everyone for their generosity, thoughtfulness... and I'm still stunned. I just can't believe how wonderful y'all are.
I don't know what I did to deserve such wonderful friends. I just know I'm lucky as hell to have you.
The scroll is going to the office with me and after I make a few copies of it I'm going to frame it and put it up in my cube to remind me of how terrific my frembly is.
