Dear Authors

Dear Authors,

I love you. I love what you write. I want to read everything you write that I can get my greedy lil hands on. Please to be forwarding me your grocery and to-do lists. Kthanx.

I think it's cool that you have an LJ. However, it would be COOLER if your writing LJ was a community rather than a personal journal.

You see, in order for me to read you on my flist, I have to friend you. While there's some writers out there I love [livejournal.com profile] madkestrel, some I really like [livejournal.com profile] davidbcoe, and some who are new to me [livejournal.com profile] jimhines, I don't want strangers having access to my personal blog.

Yes, I know writers are busy people and who am I to even THINK they would have time to read my blog. I don't. However, since my LJ is friends only for many very good reasons, including what I do for a living (most of you didn't know, for instance, that I work for an ~ahem~ alphabet soup agency, did you??????), I'd love to stay in the loop on my favorite authors happenings without having to allow them access to my LJ. D. and J really don't need to know that much about me, ya know?

Yes, I know I can use filters. I already do. But that's just one more hassle in the process. Make it easier for your fans to find you and read what you're writing, not harder. Had David not mentioned something today in Magical Words I wouldn't have read his blog. Not reading his blog means I would have missed catching on to Jim Hines, who has a book coming out tomorrow that sounds AMAZING!

Toss in anther factor. I've met [livejournal.com profile] davidbcoe. I'm hesitant to friend him for fear of appearing like a creepy-stalker-fangirl (which I am, but I don't want to LOOK like one, ya dig?).

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
